CU-Boulder’s Immigration Defense Clinic

Student attorneys in Professor Chapin’s legal Clinic at CU Law defend immigrants in a wide variety of legal matters, specializing at the nexus of criminal and immigration law. Professor Chapin and her students appear in both state and federal court on behalf of noncitizen clients, and also file affirmative immigration applications including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) petitions. The Clinic operates on the academic schedule and typically takes cases during the academic calendar, from August-May.

With a mission to protect, defend and extend the civil rights and civil liberties of all people in Colorado through litigation, education and advocacy, the ACLU offers Know Your Rights trainings, works with students and young professionals interested in civil liberties, writes letters, talks to government agencies and files lawsuits on behalf of clients whose rights have been violated.
