Douglas County Youth Initiative

The Youth Initiative is a method of coordinating local youth-serving efforts and assessing the needs of the youngest residents by envisioning a community in which youth are involved, valued, productive, protected and healthy. Programs include Outstanding Youth Awards, Youth Congress, Youth Commission, La Liga Futbol, and WrapAround. Resources are provided in the Youth and Family Resource Guide.

Family Resource Pavilion

The Family Resource Pavilion is a cThe Family Resource Pavilion (FRP) is a welcoming hub where young people and families can find support for life’s challenges. From school and behavioral issues to mental health, family conflict, substance use, truancy, and even court involvement — the Pavilion connects families to the help they need, all in one place.mmunity partnership that promotes the well-being of young people and their families through coordinated access to a comprehensive network of support services. The facility is open 24 hours a day to youth and families.

Gang Rescue and Support Project (GRASP)

GRASP (Gang Rescue and Support Project) is a peer-run, intervention program that works with youth who are at-risk of gang involvement or are presently active in gangs, helps families of gang victims, and serves as a youth advocate. GRASP works so well because it is primarily run by ex-gang members who broke free of the gang life-style and turned their lives around.

Girls Inc. of Metro Denver

We serve girls ages 6-20 in the Denver-Metro area. Our research-based programming is delivered by trained professionals who focus on the development of the whole girl, supporting, mentoring, and guiding girls in an affirming, pro-girl environment. Here, girls learn to value their whole selves, discover and develop their inherent strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate the challenges they face.

Global Teen Police Academy

The Global Teen Police Academy is a two (2) week program designed to give youth a working knowledge of the Aurora Police Department. It consists of a series of interactive classes held daily and taught by the department’s Student Resource Officers. There is no cost to participate; each participant must undergo a background check.

Transformative Justice Project of Colorado

A Denver-based non-profit aiming to abolish the school-to-prison pipeline for youth aged 10–25. TJP provides free legal advocacy, education support, mental health care, and resources, particularly for Black, Brown, disabled, and LGBTQ+ youth. Their approach focuses on challenging systemic racism by walking alongside youth to navigate school discipline, probation, and reintegration.

The Blue Bench

The Blue Bench (formerly RAAP) is metro Denver’s only comprehensive sexual assault prevention and survivor support center. Through issue advocacy, scientifically-supported prevention programs and a robust offering of low to no-cost client services including a 24-hour hotline, individual and group therapy and case management, The Blue Bench has helped hundreds of thousands of Denver-area people find the courage to move from victim to survivor.

The Conflict Center

A Denver-based non-profit dedicated to providing skills in restorative practices, anger management, and conflict resolution. It empowers youth and adults to manage conflict peacefully in homes, schools, and workplaces. TCC offers training to foster nonviolence, equity, and community-based alternatives to punitive justice.

The Juvenile Assessment Center

Contributes to the safety of youth, families, and the community through early intervention, comprehensive assessment and improved access to appropriate services in Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties in Colorado. In-depth assessments are used to help connect youth and family to necessary resources. Work with schools, courts, law enforcement when necessary. Non-profit.

The Young Parent Support Program (YPSP) is committed to helping parenting teens navigate the multiple challenges that come with being both a parent and a student. Our mission: Empower students to meet their academic goals, develop life skills, and become self-sufficient.

Youth Leadership Academy (by Aurora Mental Health & Recovery)

An integrated, comprehensive program offered by Aurora Mental Health & Recovery serving youth in Aurora, Colorado. These programs offer students a broad array of enriching non-school hour activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children. YLA offers programming both during the school year and during the summer.
