Help & Hope Center is a non-profit human service organization dedicated to providing assistance to people in Douglas and Elbert counties who are in serious economic need, at risk of homelessness, or in a similar crisis. We address immediate needs by consistently providing food and other necessities for homeless, low income, and financially fragile in our community.

Strive to Thrive
Strive to Thrive is a bi-annual event hosted by the Community of Care Network, usually in January and July. Agencies and organizations come together to offer a one-stop-shop resource fair for vulnerable residents in Douglas County. Participating agencies provide on-site services to those in attendance. Each event is different in terms of what is available, but in the past the event has offered food and nutrition assistance, emergency assistance applications, housing information and assistance, food, clothes, haircuts, and much more.

Douglas County School District opened a GED testing center in 2017 as a viable post-secondary option. The objective is to help them work through troublesome times with dignity. Services include: food and toiletries, funds for housing assistance, utility assistance, emergency overnight lodging, transportation, prescription and dental assistance, clothing and household items, referrals and information to other agencies and resources.
